CSS Web Templates
Using the Rutgers CSS simplifies website design and content maintenance because:
- All design information is in the external style sheet rather than on the individual HTML pages;
- CSS separates content from design, which makes site design updates quick and easy;
- Content is easier to locate and update.
Dreamweaver Templates
Macromedia Dreamweaver templates are available for those who prefer to work with "what-you-see-is-what-you-get" (WYSIWYG) web tools. To use these templates, you must first do the following:
- Set up a Dreamweaver site.
In order to use these templates, a Dreamweaver site must be set up prior to use.
For more on this topic, refer to Setting Up Your Site and Project Files on the Dreamweaver website.
- Open the template to view the page.
Choose File > New. Select the Template tab at the top of the window. The site you created in Step 1 should be listed on the left side of the window. A list of available templates should appear on the right. The template preview on the right may appear with broken images. This is normal. Select your template and click "Create" to create the page.
For more information about using Dreamweaver templates, refer to Dreamweaver's Template Tips. In addition, classes in Dreamweaver are available through the Center for Teaching Advancement and Assessment Research.
