The unit website banner has two parts: a thin logotype banner header that is available in three colors (red, black, and gray) and appears at the top of your banner; and a customizable title band that may incorporate a background design. This banner was created for research centers, institutes, departments, subunits of larger departments, and offices. This is the only customizable banner and offers the most design flexibility.

The standard width of these banners is 770 pixels. They may not be resized or altered unless approved by Creative Services.

To Customize This Banner
Download the unit banner .psd file. Then, using the layers, add the unit name as well as graphics to enhance the site. Unit names should be added to the banner in 35 pt Formata BQ regular font. See the image below for other variables used in the Photoshop file. Once the banner has been created, it should be saved as a .jpeg file.

If you would like to add an optional background but do not have Adobe Photoshop, submit a request for this banner.

This banner can be easily used with the Rutgers Dreamweaver templates by replacing the image that comes with the template. More HTML programming is required to use the unit banner with the CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) template.
