Clinical Attire

In order to have some uniformity in the look of clinical attire, the placement standards for lab coats, scrubs, T-shirts, and polo shirts outlined below should be followed.

lab coat

Lab Coats

The unit signature is to be embroidered on the right chest of all lab coats in two colors: PantoneĀ® 186 (red) for the Rutgers logotype and black for the unit name. Personalization on lab coats (e.g., names, titles, degrees, departments, divisions, etc.) is to be embroidered on the left chest in black. Use a sans serif font such as Calibri (Block #31) or its equivalent in upper and lower case letters. Do not use all caps or a script or serif type font.

scrub

Scrubs

The unit signature is to be embroidered on the left chest of colored scrubs in white thread.

t-shirt and polo shirt

T-Shirts and/or Polo Shirts

The unit signature is to be embroidered on the left chest of T-shirts and/or polo shirts in two colors: PantoneĀ® 186 (red) for the Rutgers logotype and black for the unit name. See example above.

sample coat with patch

Alternative: Patches

It is preferred that clinical attire be embroidered; however, if for cost prohibitive reasons an alternative to embroidery is necessary, imprinting a patch is allowed. The unit signature is to be imprinted on a rectangular white patch 4.5" wide by 2.5" high with rounded corners in two colors: PantoneĀ® 186 (red) for the Rutgers logotype and black for the unit name. The stitching on the outside edge of the patch should be white.
