Rutgers Visual Identity System
Fonts
The Formata BQ and ITC Giovanni font families have been chosen as the primary typefaces for university communications—printed, digital, and web. The fonts are available for both Mac and Windows platforms. Both fonts are available by request from University Relations.

Substitute Fonts

The Arial typeface has replaced Verdana as the recommended substitute for Formata. All Verdana desktop letterhead and PowerPoint templates have been replaced with the Arial typeface.

Palatino is the preferred substitute for the Giovanni serif font.

Refer to the Visual Identity Manual [PDF–10MB] (section 4.0) for detailed information on typography use.

To use the desktop letterhead or PowerPoint templates, you need the Formata font installed on your computer.
