The simplest way to add the identity to an existing website is to use the web banner system. Banners are available for each campus and are flexible enough to be used on all university websites even if the website has been developed by an outside firm.
Five styles are available:
- Universitywide – For sites whose operations, functions, and services encompass the entire university or whose purpose is to provide general information relevant to the university (e.g., About the University).
- Campus – For use on websites whose operations and goals target a regional campus, rather than the entire university community.
- School/College – For use on specific school and college websites. This banner is available by request.
- Unit Banner – Thin banner with a customizable title band created for research centers, institutes, departments, subunits of larger departments, or offices websites.
- Web Bar – Thin web bar for use on an existing website of a research center, institute, department, subunit of a larger department, or office.
The standard width of these banners is 770 pixels, and they are available to download.
Each banner file contains:
- Rutgers logotype
- Background colors: red (d21034), black (000000), or gray (848589)
- Informal seal "watermark," screened to 15% black
Additional banner elements include:
- Navigation items such as links to the university homepage, campuses, and website search engine
- Campus or school/college signatures
- Titles of other university units
