Rutgers Visual Identity System
Comprehensive Communications Program and Constituency Research
In 2004, the Constituency Research Project, a report commissioned by the university, showed that, although Rutgers was considered to be of high quality with a good reputation, the university has a familiar but vague and undifferentiated image in New Jersey. This report strongly recommended that Rutgers launch an improved and targeted program to communicate the message that what Rutgers offers is distinctive, valuable, and worthy of personal investment by the university community and by the state of New Jersey and its citizens.
